Tips for Emirates Passengers Renting Cars

Generally speaking, most car hire companies would prefer if you used a credit card to secure and pay for your rental, particularly one with enough available credit to cover the excess (deductible) of the Collision/Loss Damage Waiver (CDW/LDW). However, debit cards may be used in certain locations.

Emirates car rentals include free cancellation and amendments, CDW/LDW and Theft Protection (TP), unlimited mileage, and third-party liability insurance.

When renting a car from an airport, in many cases, you’ll be asked to present proof of a return flight when picking up the car. If you don’t, the car hire company won’t release the car.

To avoid a number of post-rental surcharges, it’s extremely important to read your rental agreement from start to finish. That way, you’ll know that returning the car before the last day of the rental agreement isn’t going to save you any money. You must be 25 years or older to rent a car through Emirates, but minimum ages are location specific. You can be as young as 18 to rent a car in New York State. Generally speaking, drivers under 30 tend to get better rates.
